The most I've spent at a single thrift store so far has been around $15.00 at a local GoodWill.

We spent about $300 on a bedroom set, but the set has sold on eBay for $1500, so I think we got a good deal on it.

We also got the two nightstands as well.

We'd LOVE to find the headboard (king) and a dining room set. That stuff is awesome!

Nice bureaus (and cat) and a good deal, I agree!  I don't think I have ever spent more than $40 either because I have never found furniture.  The Salvation Army won't deliver anyway, so it would have to be something I really wanted to bother to arrange pick-up.

The Salvation Army here rarely has sets of furniture, the distribution center apparently has no attention to detail, which I believe because I will see 1/2 of a dish set at one SA and the other 1/2 at the other SA.  If someone donated a bedroom set it would probably end up at 3 different stores.

I agree, that is a lovely furniture piece. Kitty is pretty!

The most we ever spent at one thrift store was about $70.  My husband and I bought a lot of clothes, plus some collectibles and things for the house.

I just found those pictures online, so it's someone else's kitty. Prettier than any of our cats.
We do really like the set, although if it was refinished it would be perfect. Some day we'll do that.

Around $60 - $65 (I bought a sewing machine for $50 plus some other stuff).

Old English makes a scratch cover that is a nice polish too, I have seen them in dark wood and medium wood tones (I have used the one for dark wood).  I have put it on furniture that is pretty scratched up and it really covers well.  It fades eventually so you have to reapply periodically, but it will make worn furniture look good until you can refinish.

I think around $30 is the most I have ever spent at one time at a thrift shop.  But I got a nearly complete china service for 8, missing only a small bowl and a saucer.  Several large serving pieces to patch, including a large platter and bowl.  Several pieces of vintage jewelry, a tablecloth and several pieces of china that went with the service altho they didn't match.  A lot for the money.
Usual for me is $10 or less.

I think the most I've ever spent was about $20 for a bunch of clothes.
The biggest one item purchase was only about $5 for a DVD player. It wouldn't open but when I got it home I just whacked the top of it and it opened with a finding Nemo DVD in it  Cool

Up until a few months ago I think maybe $50 tops. But husband and I just found an art deco sideboard for $229 and it was 30% off so we paid about $169 for it. We had been looking for some kind of TV stand and I was just about to give up when we found it. Much better than something from IKEA IMNSHO.  Grin
