Yep- I've seen some cute Pyrex, and I guess in the right kitchen the beige might do the trick. But on its own there on the thrift store shelf, it really didn't seem to have the flair of some of the ones you guys have posted, or the pink and turquoise I own myself.

Thanks about the pic, SeSo. I figured a photo including a thrifted lamp was appropriate. Smiley

I saw this pyrex cinderella casserole & caddy today at the SA:

http://www.pyrexlove.com/brown-onion-cinderella-round-casserole-dish-series-473/glassware/

The pattern is called "brown onion".  I never saw that one before, I like the lid.  It was in near mint condition and surprisingly only marked $2.49 at the more expensive SA.  I don't have anything to go with it so I left it behind, but I did like it, very 70's.

valleythriftshopper-you are a stronger person than me!!!  I would have had that Pyrex in my cart the minute I saw it.  That's one I don't have.

I really wanted to, but I don't have a big Pyrex collection and the few pieces I have are pastel colors and don't go at all with that dish.  I really liked it, it is very 70's mod, if I had any dishes that it would go with I would have snapped it up.  It was gone the next day, I am really surprised it was marked so cheap.

ive been suffering from pyrexia since i inheriated pieces from by grandmother. however last week i went to one of my favorite thrifts and they had a medium pyrex mixing bowl with the amisg couple on it , the price $10.00. i was devastated. they have now caught on to pyrex.  but i went back in on wed and they lowered the price to $4.00 so i got it. i was in charleston for the labor day weekend. i love the thrift stores there . i saw two pyrex mixing bowls , one green one yellow. however the condition wasnt too good. they were fading and had scratches on them/ before i left i went to an estate sale and got 5 pieces of vintage pyrex and 3 pieces of fire king. i was so happy.

i got crazy daisy and i think the other is green spring blossom.  i was really disappointed that the green and yellow  pyrex bowls were in such bad condition. i have been having better luck at yard/estate sales then thrift stores lately.

Please help me!!!  I CAUGHT pyrexia here.  It had to be here.  Last week, I was a normal thrifting person, paying no attention to Pyrex.  Then, today, I saw a set of three matching bowls, and I was overcome with the urge to buy them.  Having read about them here, I HAD TO HAVE THEM.  No matter that I don't collect, nor do I have a use for them.  But, I now have them.  Please, is there a cure?

A set of matching bowls is hard to resist.  The good thing about Pyrex is that besides being fun & decorative it is useful also, everyone has an occasion to bake or mix something, might as well be in a Pyrex casserole dish or bowl!  They are good to store leftovers in too rather than plastic containers that absorb odors.  They are quality pieces too and expensive to buy new.  Now if you end up with a kitchen full and still can't stop buying you may want to seek professional help, but every kitchen should have a sampling of Pyrex.

I'm new here but also love Pyrex.

Here's  great website that lists pictures and names of Pyrex patterns as well as some general info.

I adore Pyrex and its cousins Corning Ware. Since becoming of mature age . . . I sometimes lose my grip. Pyrex and Corning Ware save me. They are light (as in not heavy) and most of the time my trembling hands can manage them when mixing up my witches brews. I collect plain Corning Ware and look for Pyrex with very simple decoration. I favor the blue and white patterns. I just throw them into the mix and soon find that they are there just waiting for Momma to take them home. Pyrex and Corning Ware . . . I love it! And it is amazingly dishwasher safe!

Pyrexia!  Yikes, I have it too!  My mother-in law got me going on it.  She's got a fabulous collection.  But I must say, I don't know what the "dots" look like. Can you post a photo?

I have pyrexia too but no where to display it.  Also, besides the "green daisy" print, it doesn't go with my 70's themed collections... I also collected corning ware/ milkglass condiment holders..(salt and pepper), sugar, etc... I guess since they are smaller.
