GW's buy it by the pound.

My daughter cruised in today from Spokane. She wanted to go to the "By the pound" store. It's a family affair. My granddaughter and her BF were the only others that were here to go.

2 heaping baskets full. Cost $83. Heather is 18 but since Mom was with us she knew what the 16 yr-old guy and the 14 yr-old girl like. Our boyfriend only found a hoodie and it was for his mom. We dearly love his mother. I also found four lawn chairs in perfect condition for a mere $5 each . . . they need new cushions.

Good time to keep our eyes out for gifts.

To top off the day; we went to Longview WA where his mom lives. We had dinner at Annie's (best chinese in the Land) and then went to his mom's house to play with the eight little Pitts. So darling.

I'm exhausted but always have a glow after such a great adventure with my favorite people.

There is a fantastic GW in Dayton, Ohio that I found this year.  You buy everything except clothes and electronics by the pound.  I went two days in a row and we were supposed to be on vacation!!  I loved this store!  I found that I could get much more by buying it by the pound than what I have to pay for individual items at my local GW.  You could get 10 paperbacks for the price of 1, by paying 69 cents a pound, instead of 79 cents or more each where I live.  I which that Dayton was closer to me, but I live in Illinois and the Hoosier State is in between Illinois and Ohio, so it would be a very long drive to shop!! LOL  Plus, I would be broke after shopping there too many times.

Isn't that odd! Ours is clothing by the pound, glassware and books at so much each. It must be up to the individual districts to set a standard. Portland are stores are just like ours.
