Hello,

A friend of mine knew I was into this sort of thing and invited me to her friend's estate sale but I will not be here this weekend so they said I could come look at it beforehand. Man! Dream come true!

So this gal has all of her grandmother's costume jewelry, vintage purses, scarves, and more. Grandma used to be a stage performer!
The jewelry is a collector's dream come true. Rhinestones galore, pearls, on and on.

She knows I sell on eBay so I wanted to make sure she was okay with parting with it. She said she had no clue on how much to sell it for. I didn't feel good about it and told her to make sure there wasn't anything she wanted to keep and she said the only reason she kept it was when she tried to sell it to an antique dealer, they passed as well as some others. Demand was low. And she says she has no clue how much to sell if for at the sale.

So.............I told her I did not want to buy any but rather would like to help her get top dollar.

So my question after this long post is does anyone know a good source off or online to get some true costume vintage jewelry prices and possible buyers?

Cookie and I went on Antiques Roadshow a couple years ago and we met their costume jewelry expert, Rhinestone Rosie. She is the all knowing goddess of costume jewelry.
Her website would be a good place to start.

Thanks! I did a pin up photo shoot a few years back and that was one of the outfits. Was a lot of fun.  Grin

There are some groups on Yahoo and also on facebook that are just geared into really collecting and seem happy to discuss pieces and values.  Since I have not been to either in a long time, I just wanted to let you know that these groups are available. If I find the links I'll post them.  How nice of you to do that.  I am such a costume jewelry addict!
