Angry Angry It was an unmitigated disaster. Angry Angry

The HOA didn't put out any community sale signs, and traffic flow was abysmal.  We made - get this - $53.00 for a Saturday sale (and we had a bunch of good stuff out there!)

It was a gorgeous day, but there was no one who came by.  Next spring, I'm putting our sale all over Craigslist.  We can no longer rely on our HOA board to do what they're supposed to do.

That is all.

That's terrible!  You'd think they would have advertised a community event like that.  All that work and only $53!  I'm sure they'll get a lot of complaints about that and hopefully next year they'll do better along with your advertising too.

At the very least they should have placed good signs.

Gee, Big Daddy, what a rip-off! Tis' a pity about the lack of support from the HOA. Don't you pay dues to them or something as a resident of the subdivision where you live?  I've never lived in a place with an HOA, but I thought they traditionally provided community support and cohesiveness to the place they encompass.

Have you ever done Craig's List?  Has anybody out there?  If so, what have the responses and the money-making capability been like?

My buddy Troy and I placed the signs for our block at 4:45 am on Saturday AM.  We heard the sale was in the AZ Repulsive (Republic) but didn't confirm first hand.  There were no community signs.  There was a much larger community sale to the south of us, but that's all the more reason to PUT OUT THE DAMN SIGNS!

In the words of Clark W. Griswold,

      "Holy S---, where's the Tylenol."

That is all.

Yes

Yes, usually

I've put a couple of things on Craigslist, and it works well.  I've also bought things off of Craigslist, and will use it again.  No fees like you have on eBay, but the chances of finding something you are really looking for is more challenging.

I don't have any knowledge of the effectiveness of a garage sale announcement, although they do have a separate heading for it for Phoenix.

That is all.
