Well, judging by the humor stories of PG Woodhouse from the 1920-40s, Scotties were a fairly popular breed of dog to have then. So maybe it's some off shoot of a trend during that era.

Great planters, they looks so cute as a collection.  Maybe the lambies will ensure that March surely goes out as a lamb & we finally get some Spring weather (& yard sales!). The old planters are very collectible, especially if they are marked, Christmas & Valentines themed planters are quite popular, I have sold a few as well as a lambie planter!  Head vases are also something to look out for.  The thanksgiving planter sounds very interesting.  They work great on a desk to hold note cards, pens, pencils as well.

I have not been doing too much for Easter, but have been doing some spring decorating.  The thrifts, mainly Salvation Army as we have little variety around here, have not been very bountiful in the last several weeks.  I did get some Rachel Ashwell curtains for over half off at Target though which was a great buy.  I have been looking at her books lately at the library, her beachy cottage look has become more appealing to me as the winter drags on.

I also have been doing a little Ebay shopping & got a good deal on a few Lu Ray pieces to fill out the set.  A sugar, creamer & small platter for $18 including shipping, which comes out to $6 per piece, not much more than I'd pay at the SA (maybe even less, given their pricing these days).

A few things I did find at the SA were a robin's egg/aqua linen tablecloth for $1.99 (I have been into white & aqua lately) and an 1940's Anchor hocking Moonstone large serving bowl & sandwich platter for $2.99 each.

I also put out this little reproduction tin I thrifted for 50 cents.  It sits between a lamp I found on the side of the road & a vase I got for a  dollar at a yard sale.  Happy Spring to all!

Nice!  I too love Rachel A's style (and am very tired of winter!) and aqua is really embraced by me! Smiley

Yup, count me in within the Rachel Ashwell appreciation club. I've thrifted a few things of hers. The quality on the items is always pretty good, and the look is very fresh.

You're right-- just what we need for spring fever.

I collect bunnies and also 'real' looking eggs. I've had people ask why I leave my eggs out in a basket on the counter. LOL! My bunnies range in size and style. I like big floppy eared stuffed bunnies. I have two adorable ones that hold up my copy of The Velveteen Rabbit. That is my all time favorite book, BTW and I thrifted a vintage copy with fantastic illustrations! I have Honey Bunny. He is dressed in pink pjs and has his own bed with sheets, pillows and quilts. He's about the size of a Barbie doll but much classier. And finally I have an assortment of ceramic bunnies with faux fur sprayed on them. They form a family on the bookshelf in the family room. They been displayed in many rooms. I'm envious of Dee with her 'kitchen' bunny finds.

Easter is a very good time for finding bunnies, lambs and eggs. After Easter is a good time to find baskets. My Bible is in a thrifted lamb book cover that really draws attention if and when I go to church. LOL! Sinner I am! I seldom miss TSing on Sunday!

The Velveteen Rabbit has always been one of my favorites too, the illustrations are great.  I still have my bunny that I brought everywhere as a child.  It would not make a very good Easter display though as it's appearance has become quite scary with no fur left!

I was looking at some Easter trees & wooden ornaments at the SA and went as far as picking them up & carrying them around.  Then I came back to my senses & realized that I have enough clutter & need to get rid of stuff not bring home more knick-knacks.

The lamb book cover is pretty hysterical.

The Velveteen Rabbit display is a great idea. I've found along the way a number of interesting "Little Golden Books" from the 40s and 50s and was thinking, I bet folks looking to do a cheap Easter display could find some which are rabbit-related and have it turn out pretty nicely for almost no money.

Very interesting about the Scotties!  And they are cute dogs for sure!

Dewdrop, your bunnies and eggs sound cool.  And the bible book cover--you won't ever sit that down and wonder which one is yours!

Oh the Little Golden Books have loads of lovely illustrations.  I especially love the older ones which show up occasionally in the thrifts.  Actually I just love Little Golden Books because in my heart, I'm five years old!
