Not much time to talk, I'm selling @ the DC Big Flea this weekend.  When setting up yesterday I noticed several other dealers had Heywood Wakefield pieces.  One set was a really cool beach style sofa & armchair w/ bentwood frames and the original barkcloth covers on the cushions!

I'm selling.  I did buy one thing.  A vintage Hawaiian shirt.  $20, but I had to buy it.  Its avocado green, orange, brown, & white with a really big collar.  The reason I had to buy it is because it has Tiki gods on it.  The date code on the label is 1973, and after some minor stain removal I actually wore it to the show today.  All I could think of when I saw it was the Hawaiian vacation episode of the Brady Bunch where I think it was Peter that found the Tiki God.

Today was a pretty good day, and Mom was selling stuff like crazy.  I had to tell her to raise the prices on a lot of her stuff as she was selling it way too cheap.  I gotta look out for Mom.  She is a shrewd person on the buying end, but not the selling end.

I want to see you a pic of you in that groovy Tiki shirt, Jay. Does it make you look gay? Smiley

What does your mom sell?  What do you find that is selling...any hot trends? I know you mentioned that the Pyrex is on an 18-month trend scale; I am curious to learn if you see anything coming down the pike either thumbs up or thumbs down?

Our big extravagana at Rennigers is coming up this weekend. We don't sell there, and last time didn't buy much, but what we bought was totally "boss"!

So glad to hear you are selling stuff!  Can't wait to hear about your experiences in the "big city"!

I'll try to get a pic later in the week.  Several dealers did well with their MCM offerings, one dealer sold a Hey Wake bedroom set for over $1,000.  Several customers also mentioned that there was an article on vintage phones in Country Living magazine.  I'll have to look that one up.  Mom was selling stuff from her basement she was trying to clear out.  Mostly cookbooks and christmas ornaments, and knickknacks.
I'll elaborate more tomorrow, I gotta get to bed now.

We wanna see pics of your booth again!

I don't know if this has anything to do with the new server, but I got this error when trying to upload pics:

An Error Has Occurred!
The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.

The pics are within acceptable limits, only about 80 - 90k each.

Ok, I hope this works, I've spent the bulk of the morning working around this.  I really hope we can get the attachment feature working again, I could have uploaded all the pics in under a minute, instead I've spent time finding another server to host them on , then uploading & linking to them.

It works...Yeay!  You have got great stuff and it looks all so beautifully arranged and neat and minty! Were these taken before or after and if before, did you sell any of what's in these pics?

I LOVE those orange phones (be still my heart)  Now if you had an orange in a dial, that would be hard to beat Smiley Smiley

Yeah Yeah Yeah Blah Blah Blah....

WHERE'S JAY IN THE HAWAIIAN SHIRT???

That's what we REALLY want to see!

Actually, I've said this before and I'll say it again - I love the phones.  I'm drawn to the deep red rotary princess - stunning.  Hope it went well.

See you next time

These were taken halfway through the show.  I forgot to take my camera on Sat. morning so I took these Sun morn.  I actually do have an orange rotary model 500, I didn't take it to this show.  (I can't take everything!)

Among the items sold were my lime green model 500, the lucite phone, and my red rotary mini wall phone.  These were unique items that I did not have duplicates of, so I may not have items like those for a while.

Sorry, I don't have a pic of the shirt, I'll do that later this week.
