I didn't see any local yard sales I wanted to get up early for so I didn't.  After I went to the Post Office a little before noon I decided to drive by some of the sales I had seen listed to check for free boxes (these usually start around noon).  I found a nice piece of striped fabric big enough for a pillow, a large pair of Twig design pillar candle sticks from Target, nice for the fall, and a brand new set of glasses with fish on them.  I also stopped at one yard sale still going on and found a gravy boat that matches some dishes I have for a buck.

Anyone else do the free box cruise on a Saturday afternoon?  I rarely find any collectibles but it is still alot of fun!

I've never thought to look for free boxes after people's garage sales are over. But I do always peek through free boxes at garage sales. Picked up a few random items today myself.

I really like the candle holders!

That is my consolation for missing out on the morning sales, I find useful household items for free.  The most interesting thing I ever found was a bottle of vintage Chanel perfume.  I didn't care for the smell of it, but sold it for a decent price.

Most of the time it is just stuff like books, calculators, staplers, mugs etc. which is OK because then I never have to buy those things.

Thanks, I needed new glasses because I have no sets anymore due to broken glasses.  So I have a set for the time being until some of these get broken too.
