I know technically it's not a thrift store.  But I consider yard sales like this "mobile" thrift stores  Cheesy

Anyway, I'm located 50 miles to the west of the "Starting Line" of the Hwy 127 Longest Yard Sale.  (Not sure it's the "longest" anymore)  I was planning to get over that way either tomorrow or Sunday.  Anyone else?  Here's one of many links to this sale:

Not sure if this photo will work but I'm attaching a downsized map.  It's Highway 127 from Cincinatti, Ohio to Gadsden, AL. (I think the highway changes numbers a few times....127 is the main Hwy.)  Oh....450 Miles of stuff!!  It covers Alabama, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and maybe a corner or Georgia too.  I've been once before.  I think the girl and I are going tomorrow for a bit. I know we won't cover but a few miles in the amount of time we'll have.  But it's so fun seeing all that stuff!!  If I can remember, I'll bring a camera a take some pics.

Oh how I wish I could go, but this weekend the manager at our store is going on vacation for 2 weeks, so I have to run the store.  Otherwise I'd love to go.  I almost went to the 450 mile sale on Rt 11 earlier this year, but for me it would be an 8 hour trip just to get to the start of the sale.

I'm not going this year since I'm too far away but I'd love to do it all one year (impossible).  We lived in Cincinnati so I've done a tiny portion of it before.  I've also seen it on TV, I think HGTV had it before with all the different stuff that people sell along there.  It's really interesting.

Ah, it's always seemed like a lot of fun when I've heard folks talk about it. I unfortunately don't get a lot of time off from work-- most of which I have to save for holidays. I usually have to cram my thrifting in on my half-hour lunch.

It seems like it'd be a good bit of fun, but sadly, the girls start school that Monday (8-13).  Maybe some year, after they are a little older.

That is all.

This is something I read about many years ago. I have always wanted to go but it would be more than a day trip for us since we live a few hours away from the closest point. I am going to propose a trip for next year to my BF, we love to camp - we can take his work van, pack the tent and camping stuff and hit the sale over 3 or 4 days. I'm excited!
