The first weekend in December is always fun because there are several annual church holiday sales, which include tag sales.  There was even some light snow to set the mood.  The pretty little town of Northfield, MA has a bunch of church sales along Main St.  I found a jackpot of old craft magazines from the 40's and 50's.  Five for a dollar.  I also found a nice piece of railroad china I will give to my Dad for Christmas as he is a railroad buff.  A big lot of knitting needles, a few pair of earrings and an old scrabble game (the wood tiles are great for crafting) rounded out the day.  Less than 20 dollars spent.

The sad part is there probably won't be any more church or tag sales util the spring now and the thrifts get pretty dismal after Christmas.  Maybe I will get more housework done on the weekends though, but that is nothing to look forward too!  Has anyone else hit some good Holiday Bazaars/Church sales?

I wish our area does that...our sales all end usually by late October. There are no church rummage sales, garage sales, or anything until Spring. The Midwestern winters around here keep people inside until the warm weather returns. I have to rely on thrifts, estate sales, and auctions. I hate winter - especially because it doesn't get "warm" here until late May!

December brings church craft sales but no rummage.  Even the estate sale business holds off from Dec 15 until after Jan 2nd.  Dreary time of year, which is why I hide some of my summer finds to discover all over again during my hibernation.
Honest- has nothing to do with hiding them from anyone else... wink wink.

I love finding something I got at a yard sale & forgot about!  Many of the churches around here went with craft sales and didn't include the rummage tables, not that craft sales aren't nice & shouldn't be supported, but I am a rummage freak.  Luckily up in Northfield the first weekend of Dec. holiday bazaar is a real tradition, I am glad they stuck w/ the traditional format.

Lately the thrifts have been good around here too, very strange, but good.  I think December is shaping up to be one of the best thrift months of this year!  There are really not many indoor estate sales around here anytime of the year, I don't know why, I would like to go to those.
