At one of the Goodwills near my home, I saw a whole slew of framed (nicely, not chintzy) - some with multi-level mats -  Patrick Nagel lithographs.  They had them listed at $40.00 per.  These are the large poster sized type lithos - of course, with the coupon, they'd be $32.00 per...

The frames are all black, and some to be a little worse for wear with scuffs and some minor scrapes.  The frames were nice at one point, but I'd think don't have much value in present condition, and really couldn't be used again.

Anybody have any idea what these are worth?  I know that he did stuff for Playboy, and also did a few album covers (the Duran Duran Rio illustration was there, announcing an exhibit).

I always kind of liked the look of the stuff - very 1980's, but really kind of lost interest.

Any ideas out there?

That is all.

Hey ya, Big Daddy;

Whenever I find an item I think might be worth something, I do ebay reseach...check out the name of the artist or product, both current and completed auctions, also check out ebay CA and all the European ebays as well. I see what the market wil bear, what vox populi considers worthy of purchasing, if I am not going to keep the item myself.  I search both Yahoo and Google to see what I turn up in all the "retro" selling places such as Ruby Lane and places in NYC and LA, for example, which are usually overpriced but with sublime pickins'.

The 80s may be the next big thing...but what I would do is research what is selling of the 80s online not only on ebay but in antique stores, etc., that way when you go out and thrift, you will be ready swoop down on an excellent piece at a small price and turn it over for big bucks posthaste.

Hope this helps.. some.
Ciao
