I got kissed by Robert Goulet during his midnight show at the Empire Room at the Plaza.  He was not dead at the time. I cannot imagine him at the beach or in pink bermudas or in pink bermudas at the beach. Or at the Empire Room at midnight.

Robert Goulet  sighting:

Goulet , my daughter, krista and her equally pretty bf  met at the stagedoor  2 summers ago on Broadway... i know it was at the stagedoor as it said so in the picture...

Troy McClure:  Your Robert Goulet sighting is much more recent than mine. I'm impressed with the pic and with your daughter and friend, who appreciate great talent Smiley

My kiss was back in 1969. He had beautiful eyes and he looked right into mine...I was the envy of every woman (and maybe some guys) in the room!   He made comments to me throughout the show and the audience laughed and I giggled a lot.

O, it was the Waldorf-Astoria, not the Plaza, in NYC.  My mom just reminded me.

I have a Christmas album by the late, great Mr. Goulet. I recently really admired his sense of humor in some commercials he did before he went to Camelot permanently.

My mom had that album Camelot.  I always thought he was a great singer and such a good looker too.

Clothes are so poorly made now even so-called quality clothes are getting to be shoddy.  I guess they think people are going to buy by brand and not by the quality of the item.

When I was out shopping for docker-like slacks for hubby he had told me several brand names that are supposed to be quality but I didn't find that they were any better made than some of the lesser known brands.

If you want a quality garment (for the guys, anyway) - check out Utilikilts.  They're made in the USA of American fabric, and are very well made.  They cost a bunch, but are totally comfortable and useful.

Not only that, but women dig men in kilts (as do Princesses)

See you next time -
bye for now.

Utilikilts:

They come in men's sizes only, but I guess women could wear them...

Keep in mind that men wear kilts and women wear skirts.  They close the opposite way.  Also, they really are fashioned and designed with a man's aesthetic.

Come to think of it, I'd rather not see a woman in a UK.  Other companies are out there that make shorter skirts from the same tartans that are used for men's kilts.  They (as opposed to the woman in the UK) are all that and a bag of chips.

See you next time

I remember my mom's sewing box. She had everything in it...elastic to replace legs in panties, darning eggs/needles to repair socks, etc. etc. And tons of buttons, interesting buttons.  I don't think we repair things nowadays.  We just chuck 'em and get "new".

I actually do fix things for GB because he has many pairs of favorite shorts that he won't part with, but he'll get a hole in the pocket or the hem or a seam will start coming out and he'll want it fixed.  I admit I have a sewing bag of stuff to fix that I need to work on, but when I remember to do it, I really enjoy doing small sewing projects like that.  I feel like I'm keeping the clothing alive for a little bit longer.  I just threw out two blouses last week, one I've had since 1998 and the other since 2000.  I wore them for work all the time but they both finally got stains that would not come out.  Plus, I was sick of looking at and wearing those things!  It felt pretty good to dump them in the trash knowing that I got every penny's worth out of them.  I wish I could be that good with all of my clothing and wear it until it dies!  I definitely only wear 20% of what I have because the rest doesn't fit or is crap and I wonder why I bought it.

Cookie, I think it's wonderful that you wear your clothes to their bitter end. I try to do that, too, which is why I clean out my closet every few months...get rid of the stuff that doesn't serve--pass it on-- and save the stuff I love and wear over and over again.  We do the usual mending here, too. I have a sewing box from the 50s that my mom got me at a garage sale in the 70s for .50 It's one of those pink wicker with the appliqued flower wooden top.  I remember my mom lamenting a few months ago that "nobody sews any more, nobody has a sewing box".  Back in the day, my mom had several and did a lot of mending, with a DH and three kids.

I agree about using it or passing it on.  I'll wear my clothes until they fall apart.  I'm still wearing the slacks I bought from Lands End back in 97, 10 years now and still looking good to me.

ChrisMiss, what's really impressive to me is that your clothes still fit after ten years, because I can barely get a wrist or ankle into what I wore ten years..or for that matter, ten months--ago. Brava!

Those kilts are kind of cool...I just may order one.  Thanks for the link.
