I'm stunned!  Suffocating!  Gasping for air!  My local Goodwill is closed for a few days because of underground utility work on the street in front of it.  How will I survive?

O my dear boy, sit down and breathe, slowly...very slowly. In.... and....out.

You have my sympathies!!! Is there no other place to go?

Get that phonebook out, or online directory, quick! And see if there are any thrifts in your area that perhaps have opened up...

Also, to scratch that never-ending itch to thrift, you may be spending more time at the online Goodwill.

in the st. louis area there are numerous - probably around 12-15 - goodwill stores.   so whatever direction I go, I usually have one to check out!

Thanks for all the replies...I am a little better today ;-)  There are plenty of thrift stores around but the one that's closed is my fav.  It will be open next week and I'll be back to (almost) normal.

I have been on the Goodwill site - don't you think they are a bit...overpriced?  Especially the shipping!  Holy Cow!  They seem to think they are ebay....

I saw Joe Pesci this summer when meeting a friend downtown. He was wearing pink bermuda shorts. It was horrifying,

Joe Pesci would look better at the shore with those extra masculine pink shorts!

I got kissed by Robert Goulet during his midnight show at the Empire Room at the Plaza.  He was not dead at the time. I cannot imagine him at the beach or in pink bermudas or in pink bermudas at the beach. Or at the Empire Room at midnight.
