I won't bore you with a repeat of my post under "other charities"you can read all about our organziation there. I've been here in Northern Virginia since July of 2004. I've been managing this TS ever since I arrived. It's 5800 sq foot. We carry furniture as well as a little of everything else.
I came from the Syracuse New york area. Where I was in 3 different Thrift Stores run by the Rescue Mission. The last one was 5 minutes from my house and it was great. But it was small. The store I'm running now is twice it's size. I love thrift store. while on vacation in Florida over Christmas I visited almost every thrift store in the titusville area. My dad who lives there goes to the thrift stores about once every 2 weeks.Feel free to email or post questions. I've spent the better part of the last 25 years working in the retail industry. Oh but this wasn't my first love. i have a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. There is nothing I would rather do at this point in my life. Than work for a non profit. I see every day where the profits I make go and it makes it easier to go to work every day knowing I'm not lining some fat cats pockets.

I see you wrote this last year, but, thanks.  It is really good to know that you see that charities are benefiting.  I often wonder about that with some stores having prices comparable to a retail store.  I don't like shopping in a thrift store and feel like I am being charged retail.  I have been shopping since I was a small child, When the shops seemed to always be along side a hospital.  I have seen prices sore and the practice of shopping in them become chic back to tabu and return to chic again.
