Hi All,
thanks to the webmasters for making a forum for Thrift Store Folks. Our organization. The Good Shepherd Alliance, Inc. is based in Loudoun county Virginia. You can visit our website at www.loudounhomeless.org for all the background info on our group. By the way any suggestion about the website can be directed to me. I'm also the keeper of the website, among my many hats I wear for this organization. We are located in Northern Virginia, about 45 miles outside the nations capital. Although the folks in this county don't want to admit there's a homeless problem here, you only have to look at the numbers that occupy our faciltiy to see that yes there is indeed an growing homeless population here. We have an 18 bed women and childrens shelter and a 14 bed men's shelter. And these shelters are always full. My store is located on busy Route 7 in Sterling. I can be seen and gotten to from Route 7. All of my proceeds after my store expenses go towards  operating these two shelters as well as other shelters that we are in the process of bringing online. Our store is self sufficent so that any monies donated to GSA are used for our programs and not for operating the thrift store. A good 1/3 of the money I made last year went back into our shelters. This may not seem like alot, but out of this store we do other things for the community. For instance last year this store gave away 17000 in clothing and furniture to those in need. This doesn't include the 2 truck loads of toys that were donated to LINK's toy give away in December. Our aim is provide low cost items to those that need it.  And a good value to those that can afford to pay a little more.
any questions feel free to email me.
