This topic comes from user "lblucas" Lars, an old friend who now lives in Tampa. Lars is wondering if he could raise funds for "Universal Aid for Children of the Ukraine" via a thrift shop. When I was explaining to him what I'm doing with the website, I suggested he look into raising funds through clothing donations.
1) From a logistical standpoint, what are the main steps when seeking to open a thrift shop on behalf of a charity?
2) Would it be easier and much less complicated to collect the donated clothing and goods and "sell" them to a Savers, Vallue Village type thrift?
3) Of the above two choices might a thrift store make 3-10 times the revenue for a charity as opposed to selling the clothes to a thrift store and not having all of the overhead?
Opinions, Help?.............
