I am a manager of a thrift shop that raises money to support various charites within our local area.
Last year we gave almost $40 thousand dollars (Canadian) to 5 charites near us. Each year we pick 5 new charites, a board does the choosing. We gave to a troubled youth home, 3 local churches, as well as helping to buy an x-ray machine (used) for a large clinic a few miles away.
