For years I thought the proceeds from my local thrift shop (this one) were going to needy families in town. Now I've found out proceeds are donated to various national organizations, which annoyed me as I believe in supporting my own community. Used to shop here regularly on the off chance something might be clean and in useable condition. Watched as another patron purchased some items. Her son had brought her to shop for Christmas gifts. After the customer and her son left but in full view and hearing range of other customers this customer was ridiculed and made fun of because she had been so pleased with her purchases. First, this Goodwill is in Pompton Plains, NJ, not Pequannock, NY. (Pompton Plains is next to Pequannock, NJ.) Selection and quality is very good. I entirely disagree that this store is overpriced -- I bought a Nautica sweater here for $3.99 and a pair of Dockers pants for $4.99. Both look like they're brand new.
